It’s official. I’m registered for both the Disneyland 10k and the Disneyland Half Marathon (Aug. 31-Sept.1) to complete the vaunted Dumbo Double Dare Challenge.
OK, truth be told, it’s not that big of a deal, mileage-wise. This past weekend I ran 10k on Saturday and 12.3 miles on Sunday without any ill effects whatsoever. If you follow Hal Higdon‘s marathon and half-marathon training plans, as I have been doing for years, you always do your long runs on Sunday and half your long run distance on Saturday.
But anytime you can get a medal and a t-shirt for doing what you’ve been doing just about every week, you have to go for it. This is going to be a super-popular race event so I recommend you act quickly if you’d like to go. See you there!
