The Navel Fleet

A study published in the International Journal of Design and Nature and Ecodynamics found the reason black West African runners are faster than white European runners is not because of their race, but because their belly buttons are positioned higher on their bodies.

The authors claim this placement gives the West Africans a higher center of gravity, and therefore an advantage in sprinting.

My own study concluded that it is a disadvantage in sprinting if you can’t see your belly button.
