Runner’s Low
Yesterday Running Is Funny featured the world’s highest marathon, on Mount Everest. Today it’s what promises to be the world’s lowest – or deepest – marathon as two Brits will attempt to run a marathon down the world’s deepest gold mine in Carletonville, South Africa.
Lloyd Scott is famous for his unusual charity runs, but this time he faces temperatures up to 149 degrees Fahrenheit in a mine up to 12,000 feet underground.

Yes, but why?
Hi Ben
Just so that you know, I was raising money for the Team England Fottballer’s Charity, which incorporates, Wellchild, Bobby Moore Fund and Children’s Hospices UK.
It all seemed very appropriate with the location being so close to where the England team are based at the time of the World Cup.
In actual fact I was stopped 3 miles short of the finish as they imposed a 6 hour time limit on the event, the day I flew out to South Africa!Check out http://www.teamenglandfootballerscharity.com/ for more details.
Many thanks
Lloyd
