I Can Finally Beat Kara Goucher
In case you haven’t been surfing the running Internet, Kara Goucher took the opportunity of a Mother’s Day profile of her and Paula Radcliffe in the New York Times to announce her pregnancy.
Back in the Carnival of Running #67, I asked whether Radcliffe had given Goucher any conception tips. Looks like the deed got done just before Radcliffe arrived in Portland in January.
Times reporter Sarah Bowen Shea detailed Goucher’s ups and downs. “On May 2, she ran 13 miles at 6 minutes 50 seconds per mile. But the next day, she ran six miles at an 8:15 pace,” she wrote.
Goucher could pay for the kid’s college tuition simply by charging people to take photos of themselves racing past her.

I like this photo.
“Whats that?”
“This?”
“Yes, that.”
“Oh just my bellybutton.”
