The Carnival of Running #67

Welcome to the 67th edition of The Carnival of Running!

What the hail!

Kara Goucher raves about her 12 weeks of training side-by-side with Paula Radcliffe, but did she get any conception tips? Paula was doing something besides training because she just announced she is pregnant.

We should appreciate it when our races go off without a hitch. You could be misdirected, or miscount your laps, or find a parking ticket on your car afterwards.

And there are so many ways to run races. You can run muddy, as a bunny, somewhat nutty, go all studly, or naked butt-y (adult content warning for that last link).

In celebrity running news, former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Troy Aikman ran his first half-marathon in 1:49:47.

The Boston Marathon is coming up, so if you qualified but missed the registration cut-off, a reporter would like to talk to you. If you are running Boston, check out Psychology Today’s brain strategies for the race.

This week’s linky love goes out to slowrunner77 who, contrary to his blog’s name, just ran a 10k in 33:44! I’ve never come across a runner who says, “You know, I’m fast enough.”

He can tell you what’s it like to run sub-sixes, but so can Elaine R. at Teen Ink.

That’s all for this week, friends. Ninety-eight years ago today, the Titanic hit an iceberg, but have a good day anyway. Submit your posts to carnival@runningisfunny.com. Until next time, run away!
